Special August Cookbook Club featuring VINTAGE AMERICAN COOKBOOKS

Special August Cookbook Club featuring VINTAGE AMERICAN COOKBOOKS

    August 19, 2026 @ 07:00pm

Try something old AND new for our August Cookbook Club. We're throwing it back and taking cookbook club vintage for the very first time.

Come try something old AND new at Bold Fork for our August Cookbook Club. We're throwing it back and taking cookbook club vintage for the very first time, and the best part is you get to choose your own adventure.

Here's how it works: Your ticket gets you admission, no book included this time. Once you buy your ticket, you'll come by the shop to browse and purchase something from our America 250 section: a stash of vintage American cookbooks from the early 1900s to the early 2000s. Prices start as low as $5! Take home a book that speaks to you and pick a recipe to revive in 2026.

Maybe you land on a decades-old church potluck staple. Maybe it's a mid-century convenience food experiment. Maybe it's a regional classic nobody's made in fifty years. Countless culinary treasures await! NOTE: Purchasing a vintage book from Bold Fork is a requirement to attend.

Ahead of the event, you'll receive a spreadsheet where you and other attendees list your chosen book and recipe. Then we'll gather in the shop to share our food, recipes, and stories from your experiences cooking these dishes.

PLEASE NOTE: Because of the high demand of this event, we will NOT be able to process refunds and NOT be able to transfer these tickets to a future month.

    ABOUT THE AMERICA 250 SECTION
Our America 250 section is a working archive of how our country has eaten for the last hundred-plus years, book by book, region by region. You'll find many community cookbooks: spiral-bound collections put together by church groups, Junior Leagues, and neighborhood committees, all in the name of raising a little money and preserving a lot of recipes. Travel the country just by standing in front of our shelves, from Gulf Coast seafood to Pacific Northwest salmon to Great Lakes wild rice to something closer to home like Mid-Atlantic crab. Each title tells you something true about the community that created it.
